At Bayer CropScience in Muttenz Shiftconnector of eschbachIT supports an efficient and safe operation and serves equally as a means of information and communication.
Previously an Access-based software, self-developed by an employee, has been used. Due to organisational changes and an increase of production volume, a new solution was required. “Our production grows naturally - new systems are added and thus demands for a new encompassing event log“, explains Francisco Rodriguez, facility manager at Bayer CropScience. “We required a new and flexible solution.” IT project manager, Michele Troiano, adds: “The flow of information was given, but we couot exploit future-oriented possibilities in an efficient and sustainable way.”
The new event log should therefore provide a complete, accurate and auditable record of all events and the collected data should also be able to be deployed across divisions. IT expert Michele Troiano clarifies: “Important to us was a central input and information tool that comprehensively and reliably supports our communication within shift operations - and at the same high standard at which we produce.”

Today, Shiftconnector provides correct and smooth flow of information at Bayer CropScience. The responsible plant managers and shift supervisors as well as their deputies input and record incidents in detail that differ from plant regulations thus enabling a shift and cross-divisional transparency.

Information and communication: The electronic event log lists all messages as well as tasks and instructions for the morning meeting in a clear and easy to understand way.
